Mission. NABA-Mission & Goals

Our mission is to address the professional needs which enable minorities to maximize their career potential in the accounting profession. The goals of NABA include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • To promote and develop the professional skills of our members;
  • To encourage and assist minority students in entering the accounting profession;
  • To ensure long-term financial stability and provide adequate resources to implement chapter, regional and national programs; and
  • To represent the interests of current and prospective minority accounting professionals.

In addition, NABA works actively with accounting firms, corporations, colleges and universities in the placement of minority candidates for accounting and finance position.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Chapter of NABA is also committed to making a difference in the community. Some of our local programs include the following:

  • Serving as mentors to at-risk students in the St. Louis Public School system.
  • Preparing income tax returns for low to moderate-income taxpayers.
  • Participating in local high schools’ role model programs.
  • Coaching student members on interviewing skills and techniques, resume writing and corporate etiquette.
